AECD is an intown animal emergency clinic, serving our furry friends on Atlanta's east side.  Conveniently located in downtown Decatur, AECD provides after hour and holiday emergency pet care 7 days a week.

We are a full service pet care facility that offers service to your pets when your regular veterinarian is closed.  Our goal is to provide your special family members with the care they need, until you can get them to their regular doctor.  Our facility offers:

• Digital x-ray and ultrasound
• In-house laboratory
• Emergency medicine and surgery
• Extended care and observation for your regular veterinary provider

Animal Emergency Center of Decatur

AECD is located at 217 North McDonough Street in a state-of-the-art, 11,500 square foot facility in downtown Decatur.  The practice was started by a group of veterinarians and support staff to satisfy the great need for emergency animal services for intown, metro Atlanta pets.  AECD opened in November 2007 and has treated over 3,100 animals since its inception.  AECD works with your regular veterinary provider to assure that your pet has medical, after hours help close by, when you need it.

December 2008:

AECD received its American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certification, making it the first and only AAHA certified animal emergency practice in the state of Georgia.

February 2009:

In Atlanta Magazine's survey "Best for Our Pets" AECD was voted "BEST" animal emergency hospital in the February 2009 issue.
